Dawson founded Furniture Assist in 2006 as an outreach ministry of St. Luke and All Saints Episcopal Church in Union, New Jersey, with a simple conviction: that a furnished home is a foundation for stability and dignity. What began as a local church initiative has grown into a recognized nonprofit serving families across New Jersey through a network of social service agency partners. Nearly two decades on, Dawson’s commitment to connecting donors, agencies, and families in need remains the heart of everything Furniture Assist does.

Benjamin Bryan

Benjamin is a business graduate and equity mid-cap portfolio manager based in New York City. Ben has been an active member of the Westfield United Fund distribution committee for several years, reflecting his commitment to supporting the local community. He brings a strong background in financial analysis and strategic decision-making to his role on the Furniture Assist Board of Trustees.

Ken Kandigian

Ken is a proactive finance professional specializing in CFO and business partner roles, with deep expertise in Financial Planning and Analysis. He currently serves as Director of Finance and Operations at Mary’s Meals, an international nonprofit organization. Ken brings substantial financial leadership experience to Furniture Assist, where he serves as Treasurer & Secretary on the Board of Trustees.

Ray Holte

Ray is an experienced Information Technology Manager with a demonstrated history in the logistics and supply chain industry. He brings strong expertise in IT strategy, IT service management, Oracle Database, and analytical problem-solving to his work. Ray applies his broad technical background to support Furniture Assist’s systems and operational infrastructure as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Abe Grzywacz

Abe is the owner and operator of Map Trucking, a family-owned furniture delivery service serving the tri-state area and Pennsylvania since 1981. With decades of hands-on experience in logistics and furniture transport, Abe brings invaluable operational expertise to the Furniture Assist Board of Trustees, helping ensure donated furniture reaches the families who need it most.
